Hi,

I'm part of a team of volunteers providing support and tutorials at my ISP.
One of the members of the team believes that HTML should be coded with the
tags in UPPERCASE. She won't accept that it might be better to code in lower
case, as it isn't part of the HTML 4 standard. She also believes that the
XHTML spec is a load of rubbish, and sent this link
(http://www.alistapart.com/stories/xhtml/index.html) to prove her point.

This is beginning to develop into a flame war. Please can I have your
opinions of the subject. I have always coded lowercase, as I believe that it
is better for future compatibility (and also it looks neater). Is this true?
There must be some reason why lowercase is better, as most people use it
these days, but I cannot think of the reason. What is it? What's a good
argument for coding lowercase?

Also, is the XHTML spec really useless/dead? Look at the link above and
you'll see why I'm asking.

TIA,
Peter.
