Image Library

I am looking for a cheap, possibly free solution for a client with a very
limited budget.

I need to create an online image library so that press can go to the
client's site, be given a unique registered ID, and then browse an image
catalogue of products so that they can be downloaded in a hi-res format.
This way our client is able to keep track of which publications it's
products are being featured in and also the press don't have to re-register
each time they visit.

Do any of you good people know of a solution to this problem??  If so drop
me a line.
