Accidentally, my personal page does just that.  By the way, there's also
this other nifty solution: use a layer positioned over that image.

And of course, considering the time lag between posts and replies, I'm
pretty sure you already went out and tried :-))

Is it possible to break up an image map in a table? And even have other html
objects in empty cells of that table (which obviously wouldn't be empty
anymore)? Does this question make sense?

I have a basic splash page with an image map (i know, image maps and splash
pages. what a combo) and i'd like to place a small search button in the
lower left of the page, but still horizontally level with the image map.
Again, does this even make sense?

I am fairly fluent in html and slicing stuff up in photoshop, and even
putting them back together in tables, but i've never done anything like
this.

This do-able?
