Then couldn't you just put this text field in an invisible layer?

Hi all,

I posted a question some days ago about this but I think it may have been 
too involved.

Please bear with me since I am stumped.

I have a page that I have a couple of hidden fields that get loaded with 
certain values. I test to see whether the field is blank or filled and, 
depending on the results, do A or B.

The problem I am finding is that in Netscape (all works well in IE), the 
test for the field value does not work. No matter whether the field is 
blank or filled, the test goes on as if it was filled. If I change the 
(type=hidden) hidden field to visible (type=text) all works well.

Any ideas?
