I have yet to have an instance where we really needed the font to be a
static size. The only instance of doing it was for a designer who insisted
that it had to be a particular size (psychological study) on every screen.
He didn't like us pointing out resolution differences, default system
sizes, or browser defined sizes. Our thing was that an image would
absolutely compensate for everything except resolution.

Even in CSS those sizes can be overrun.
