Hi:

VIM is a terrific tool that I use for 95% of my development. It's a
consistent environment that I can use whether I'm on NT, Solaris,
etc. Keep in mind, however, that it does have a steep learning curve. This
learning curve is well worth it, as editors like VIM typically have
regular expressions, macros,  and other tools that can  automate a good
deal of your coding.
