Hi folks!
Some have suggested that I be more specific about my password
question, so here goes...
I work on a Mac with direct access to our Unix server. Half of our
website is "normal," yet the other half needs password protection.
I'm not looking to make the webserver more secure, but I am looking
for various ways one can use to prevent anyone who doesn't have a
password from entering a portion of our web site.
GateKeeper does this very nicely, but my boss thinks people have
broken through GateKeeper. She wants to pay some money and purchase
something that would be harder to break into. She wants that portion
of our site "locked down."
I suppose there are several separate issues... one is the ability for
hackers to get into the web server, the other is the password
methodology and another is the data transmission.
Any suggestions?
Molly
