...means that at least the top of the page cannot be displayed until 
the entire table code is Dled. The entire page is a series of nested 
tables.

Beyond that not all IMGs carry HEIGHT and WIDTH so they must all be 
DLed before the browser can determine how to render the page 
(dimensions).

I saw the bordered background, then -nothing- else for at least a 
solid minute. Both of the above points are Not A Good Idea [tm].
