Hello All,

I'm amazed! I joined the Theory list a few weeks ago and was wondering
why I did not get any posts. Well, when I got this post I figured since
this is the first note that I know of. So fiigured I should reply!

Assuming that this is because the list is quiet, can I ask you all
about the philosophy you hold about frames? If using frames, has the
time come to ignore people who use non-frame browsers, or are there
still a substantial number to cater for? What are your views?

I think there are very few no-frames browsers left out there. It's very
easy to acquire a "newer" browser such as Netscape, IE or Opera. When I
create a site with frames I don't really take into account the fact that
the person viewing the site has a non-frames browsers as Spry or Lynx
etc... I'm more concerned with HTML versions. I tend to create my sites
with the idea that a person has a HTML 2.0 or 3.2 compatible browser...
Save lot's of headaches!!

If you are concerned about people who cannot view frames you could
offer text files instead. Most of the old version browser can only
display HTML based text anyway, so why not save yourself the trouble of
creating a whole new site when you can just offer download-able text
files.

David
