Fine, you win, take your closing potshots

People like Demitrius, Chuck McGee and others who have popped
up lately, in my opinion, are unable to handle a mailing list
in which someone disagrees with them strongly, and prevents a
viewpoint they don't agree with.

And so basically we get a long string of postings in which they
give up on arguing with what I say, and instead make various
personal attacks on me, justifying it (in private email) by
claiming that I've been far too offensive on the list to be
allowed to post without personal harassment.

I've put up with enough of this -- you'll notice that nobody
else who agreed or disagreed with me was singled out by name for
this kind of abuse by these immature posters -- and so I'm
unsubscribing from this list because, frankly, I don't _need_
personal attacks on mailing lists to increase my stress.

I _do_ need intelligent, insightful, thought-provoking debates,
and I thank all of you who _have_ kept it to the level of "theory"
and not resorted to ad hominem attacks. Unfortunately, though, a
small few have chosen to make this entirely personal, and it's
just no fun presenting well-thought-out ideas just to be slammed
by someone who didn't like your decision on a Guild policy issue
last year.

So, I'm unsubscribing; feel free to email me with any final
comments you have, especially since I know some of you out there
(and you know who you are) won't be able to resist the gloating
"we won, we drove you away, ahahah" style of reply. I only ask
that you keep those off the mailing list, as that's not what
everyone else joined this list to hear -- despite what you may
think.

Somedays, I really wonder why the Guild provides these lists at all...
