transformations

It's probably a silly question, but would an XSL transformation be capable 
of taking PCDATA and displaying it as CDATA?

I'm thinking of the current issue of CDATA sections for scripts in current 
browsers.  Am I right in thinking an XML transformation could take an XHTML 
page and add the extra "<![CDATA[......]] to the page making it compatible 
with XML browsers?
