Peter,

Open the Control Panel window. On the menu bar you will see File Edit View
etc...
Under View | Arrange Icons is AutoArrange. Uncheck it. This will get you
started. Check in Explorer as well. When you have the display in Detail
selected, AutoArrange is not a selectable option. Any of the display as icon
settings turn on AutoArrange as a selectable option. Turn of the AutoArrange
and you are set.

Larry

Subject: Windows problem - 400% off list!

HELP!!! Every time I switch on my computer I find that the icons on the
desktop are rearranged. They are aligned down the left hand side of the
screen and most of them are in alphabetical order. Any ideas why this
happens and how I could cure it? The computer isn't crashing and I'm using
Windows 95.

TIA
Peter.
