New Headaches with IE 6...

is the subject line in todays DevWebPro newsletter. It is so cute. It
contains an article by the Chief Operations Officer of Netmechanic.com, Mr.
Tom Dahm.

In the article he sings the blues about IE 6. 'seems the darned browser is
standards compliant (by default) and it is causing web authors quite a hard
time - including netmechanic.com

The "recommended" way around "the problem" is to "use a transitional DTD"
according to Mr. Dahm (gotta love that name!).

It is actually quite a cute article. He admits their own site is broken,
when viewed under IE6, and when they ' fix ' it (using their own advise),
it is broken under NN 6, leaving him in quite a mess - it would appear.

Why is it only you and I that can grasp the concept of transitional DTD's?
Is it marketing/administration driving their coding? I can't imagine him
not realizing the fix. It is soooooooooooo simple (and long lasting too!!!!!!).

Fuzzy.
