I have a fairly large site that has outgrown itself and needs tons of work.
What I loosely term my "main site" includes sites onto themselves.

What I need mainly are  suggestions about what to do and where to start
with this.

I don't expect anyone to fully navigate the whole site but maybe jump to
the main links.
