Hey!

    I am almost 100% positive that in your member-preferences area of AOL,
there is an option that you can set where you allow AOL to fully process
image colors.  I think, that by default, AOL is setup to dither the images.
I used AOL a while ago, but Iam almost sure that you need to go to
Keyword:PREFERENCES to change the setting.  I think it's in an option called
"GRAPHICS".

    I hope that input helps ;)
