Re: freezing problem with PSP 5by tariqs(at)comm.com (Sherif Muhammad Tariq) |

Hi Chuck and Karen, I am currently running PSP6.0 on WinNT 4.0 with SP4 and 128MB of RAM, without any problems. I can add text, have the text follow a curve, and edit the text without any lockups or freezes. The problem, in your case, could be with the drivers for your video card. Try installing the latest drivers for your video card and see if that helps. Your problem might also be related to Windows NT SP5. Try upgrading to Service Pack 6a for WinNT 4.0 (Avoid SP6, which broke Lotus Domino and who knows what other software.) If that doesn't help, you could download the trial edition of PSP6, and see if solves the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck Sherif Tariq -----Original Message----- From: Chuck & Karen <ckcs(at)neptune.on.ca> To: hwg-graphics(at)hwg.org <hwg-graphics(at)hwg.org> Date: Tuesday, June 27, 2000 11:08 PM Subject: freezing problem with PSP 5 Hi All, I'm working on graphics for a new website using WinNT and PSP 5. All my features work fine except text. I can select the text tool, but as soon as I click in my image, PSP freezes solid. I have a Pentium III with 256 mb RAM running WinNT 4.0 service pack 5. This is the only program that's giving me problems with text (or fonts). I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem or solution to help. I've tried uninstalling/ reinstalling (several times), turning off Adobe Type Manager, the JASC website technical support, the patch to upgrade 5.01 to 5.03, all with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated, TIA Karen Member, HTML Writers Guild http://www.jobskills.org <---"I made this!" http://www.ccventures.org <---"I'm trying to make this!"
