Now, I OWE YOU a big thanks.  I didn't have any spyware/adware, etc
installed, but I DO have Norton Internet Security which has an "ad blocker"
feature, which WAS enabled.  Thank you very much for triggering the response
in me that made me check it (I had already checked everything else I could
think of, but this one slipped by me).

Just goes to show what helping someone else can do for you!

Do you have any adware/spyware/popup killer software installed?  If
you do, you might want to check the settings - sounds to me like
something on your system is suppressing display of graphics that might
be adverts.
