Hi Lynne-

I think you did a good job designing the opening page. It's clean and
uncluttered, and the information is right there. The blue and gold motif on
white works quite nicely too.

If you please, I would make one comment, though. It appears you designed
this at an 800x600 resolution. When I resized my browser to 640x480, the
right side of the page went off screen and a horizontal scroll bar was
generated. Resizing again to 1024x768 showed everything but caused your
graphics to spread apart, altering the original design relationship.

You may want to consider designing within the 640x480 "box" since there
still are many computers running at that resoluion, and a commercial based
site needs to appeal to as many users as possible. As for shifting
graphics, if that is not a problem for you, then tables built on
percentages is fine. If you'd like to lock your graphics in an absolute
relationship, then consider using fixed widths (ie., pixels) when
constructing your tables.

Finally, if you're interested, there is a very useful (and quite
inexpensive) utility called "Screen Ruler" available from
http://www.infinet.com/~microfox/ This utility makes a very customizable,
movable ruler that can sit on top or down in the taskbar. The rulings can
be set to pixels, picas, percentage, whatever. I have found it very useful.

Keep up the good work

Mark Horvath
