Ulead Smart Saver <http://www.ulead.com> is great for doing this..now,
having said that, you can do it a few other ways but..

just make the part (white part) that you want transparent a few shades
lighter or darker than the roof. That should work for a quick fix. Then
just choose that color. Dont go much darker because you might get a halo.
