Bash error log clues?

I'm stumped.

I recently moved into a dedicated server running Redhat 6.1 Linux. My site
is relies heavily on cgi scripts for forums, databases of links and the
like. I'd say 75% of my bandwidth is dynamically generated.

I managed to get all of my scripts up and running with no significant
problems, but my error log is stuffed full of this error:

sh: syntax error near unexpected token `;'
sh: -c: line 1: `;'

I have personally seen no scripts generating any errors through http usage
nor have I received any complaints from users about any such errors. I've
searched around and believe I've narrowed down the culprit generating this
error as Bash? Does that seem a correct assumption as to what is generating
the error? This is not an error I've seen on my other servers and it has me
stumped as to where to start looking for a cause. Obviously, I've always
used some sort of shell when I work on the server via telnet, but I have no
experience in dealing with them other than just using whatever shell is
presented to me when I telnet into the server.

I'm hoping to get an answer to these questions:

When one encounters an error log entry like the above, what program is
generating it? If it is Bash, does it mean that Bash itself finds an error
in bashrc or .bashrc, or does it mean that a perl script I'm running has an
error and Bash is just reporting it?

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. I have
a lot of these errors and at the moment I don't even know what they mean <g>
