Hi Everyone:

First of all, apologies for not tracing this thread back to the source
(so it might have been said) but you might like to know that NAV 2002
scans incoming AND outgoing email messages. This, coupled with
transparent automatic signature updating (really cool if you have any
kind of broadband or "always on" net connection) makes it well worth the
upgrade.

Slows down mail slightly but worth it not to be a "typhoid Mary" in my
opinion.

Just FYI

Marty

Thanks Jim,

I hope you don't mind, me sending your reply to the list. Another
good article link was sent to me, and should also be included in
next hwg-techniques issue.

I agree, just doing this one particular "thing" is not a very
good countermeasure for Virus protection. But then again, it was
never meant to be -- it is only part of, the solution.

Virus protection, like computer security, is a strategy. Both require a
combination of programs, diligence, and common sense
from the individual. As part of this strategy, I have some other
advice, from other Newsletter Back issues, which start at:

Tutorial - PC Privacy Part I
http://www.potentproducts.com/newsletter/011.html

Tutorial - Get Them Viruses Before They Get You
http://www.potentproducts.com/newsletter/015.html

Gathering these bits & pieces of information I have, into one
complete, correct, and effective Article, would better serve to
help people.

I can see a full-fledged Tutorial coming on. ;)

Thanks,
