Site wide search with wildcard: Clarification

Thanks for the replies on the search question, but I may not have been clear
enough.

Dreamweaver has a powerful search function. I can search the entire site,
replace without even opening the docs, but I cannot come up with a search
string that performs like this:

<comment tag> any content in here <end comment tag>

If I knew more about regular expressions, I might be able to come up with a
search string. Maybe a database building language programmer would know.
Does anyone understand the languages enough to know where I could look, ie,
would a VB programmer know? I know a lot of people with skills, but have no
idea where to start on this one.
