Linda,

One possible solution would be to assign the DEFAULT linking styles the
colors you want them to be in the search results, then for links you CAN
control (like your navigation or whatever), assign alternate linking styles.
For example:

a:link
a:visted
a:hover
a:active
.navlink:link
.navlink:visited
.navlink:hover
.navlink:active

Use the first sets (the a: classes) for the colors for links you CAN'T
modify, such as those from your search results. Use the second (and any
other sets) for links you CAN modify, such as your navigation system. Link
to the second set as <a style="navlink" href...

Hope this helps!
Kehvan

Subject: CSS stylesheets revisited

My head is swimming with stylesheets. I have a template page I'm using with
my search engine (I think.. not if I can't solve this problem, though) with
a columntable and three columns in it. I want the LINKS, visited links and
active links to be in different colors, but since the search engine
programs actually adds the links, and since there will be hundreds of
pages, I can't simply assign each a class to each<a href"x"> - is there
some way to assign these using the table/cell/table body or other more
genenal class and not l,ink by link?

Linda
