I believe this is the list I need to be posting too. If not, my apologies.

I'm interested in web design as a career. For the time being, it is merely
a hobby. I plan on going to college next fall and hopefully learn enough to
get me into this field.

Yet college is a long time away. I want to learn most of the skills now and
maybe even start my own web design business or work with a company that
specializes in web design. What is important to know in the web design
business? Should you stick to graphics and HTML or is it important to learn
shockwave, DHTML, javascript, etc. What about HTML 4.0? Should I be
learning that right now, or should I stick with HTML 3.2?

What about outside the design focus? What are some important aspects about
maintaining a web site? I again apologize in advance if this is off topic.
Thanks!
