Opera doesn't have Microsoft's financial base. Their price is nominal for
the software being provided, and supports a team making ports of the product
for quite a few operating systems. Personally, I'm a bit surprised they are
able to do so much with so little cash...:).

The Open Source browser will eventually win the day, IMO. Until then,
however, Opera is a decent choice, and I paid the $35 because I wanted to
contribute my few pennies to keep their Linux team working...:)

So it seems that everytime I read something, I see Opera somehow mentioned
(I'm downloading the trial now, in the background).

With NN4.x becoming more annoying to deal with everyday and many looking for
an alternative to IE5 (A lot of times, just because its MS), why do they
charge?

I myself would prefer not to use IE, but it just seems easier to browse with
and more and more sites look better in it (even those ostensibly designed
for "both"). I know that where I work they are becoming increasingly
frustrated with NN.

Any thoughts, opinions?

Andrew
