I was reading Elizabeth Castro's HTML 4 from Peachpit Press, which
I have
seen recommended on this list, and she says that she no longer
recommends
using *any* DTD. Therefore, she at least feels that they are not
a
*necessary* part of a web page.
I am new to this whole concept, am confused and am trying to
figure all this
out (and *not* attempting to start an argument or attack any
particular
viewpoint). Any thoughts as to reconciling these two
diametrically opposed
viewpoints?
