I understand what you wrote but the fact still stands that if we continue to
let them steal they will possible next time steal yours.I think that if the
person does nothing else they should send a certified letter stating that
the artwork is theirs and they demand that it be pulled.

I totally agree with Tom, I have a book published and own the copyright.
I would approach them, if they do not want to  work with you them send a
certified letter asking (requesting ) that your work be removed. If they do
not comply then nake a decision as to your next step. You must act quickly -
they will have their lawyers stating that you knew for acertain period of
time and did nothing etc. etc.
