Hello everyone:

I was in a "I want your business bash" last night where a potential 
client had several web developers meet in a conference room at the 
same time to battle for his business. I'll tell you, it was brutal! 
Being a "calm and steady as she goes" type of guy, as I am, 
proved to be dangerous. I was almost eat'n alive by some of the 
aggressive animals out there. So beware! and don't get trapped into 
one of these knock-down, drag-out events.

Anyway, now I've vented--I'll ask my questions: The client wanted 
to offer surveys on his web site (simple, use a form) but only 
wanted a visitor to be able to submit the survey once. One brave 
soul in the meeting offered that their service could do this for him. 
In doing so they guaranteed that only one survey could be 
submitted from a computer, but couldn't guarantee that a person 
could go to several different computers and submit a new survey on 
each system.

I understand that this would be done by using a cookie left on the 
visitors computer. How do you leave a cookie, and once left there, 
how do you remove or get around it so that future surveys could be 
submitted?
