Thanks for the links to the information on the portable/handheld stuff. I
have been contacted by a site user to ask about making the site available
for their device. At present I am waiting to hear from the manufacturer.
They have touted the web viewing ability of their device, but there is no
developer info on their site. I wrote them a couple of weeks ago, but no
answer yet. I am wondering how much of this is blowing smoke to get people
to buy their product and not backed up by performance. Over zealous PR and
Marketing people often
don't know what the actual state of development is. I validate HTML 4.1 and
pass Bobby at all three levels, so I don't know what else I should do to
make a site accessible for these devices. And so far the particular device
that stated to a buyer that all they needed to do was ask the webmaster/site
owner to make sure the site was made compatible hasn't told me how to do
that.
