Hello Friends:

Question: can't you just use TARGET="new" ?
Comment - it sounds as if the intention is to always have one page sitting on
the desktop while viewing a second page from a link. How important is it to
keep the bottom page around?
One drawback that there is another page distracting the user that he/she
might intentionally cover up to get it out of view - or even shut it down
thereby losing his/her way back.
The advantage is that there is always a "home base" - but that can easily be
offered via a link back to the starting page. If you have a really deep site,
then linking back might be the better way to go.
Just a thought from this student....
