George Vail

Out of respect for Mr. George Vail I want to formally apologize to this
list for my handling of the "Stealing Art" thread.

No, my position on the theft of property is not wrong in my opinion. YES, I
will shoot someone I catch fooling around with my wife (if I had one) - and
not think twice about it. YES, I would expect the same from you.

However . . . 

I _really_ should be more "understanding" of what is potentially a
miscommunication from someone who may (obviously?) not have a strong
command of the English language (like I do? - humph!).

I also should not spout my views/opinions regarding "foreign" culture off
in an arena where some of the participants have put their lives on the line
for my right to spout, and not heed their example of tolerance.

And for that I humbly and sincerely apologize to each and every member of
this list - including Ciril, but most especially, the veterans of American
Military Service.
