Not to start an argument, JUST as a point of curiosity. Doesn't doing that
in effect just say "ok NN, don't play by the W3 rules, use your own."?

Which seems like it would be like fixing a flat tire by cutting the rubber
tire off the rim with a knife and just running on that bare rim, instead of
putting on a new tire . . . . in my ever so humble opinion.
