Hi Beth,
When you go to the validation service upload your page and then validate
it. Uploading your page is possible with the w3c validator and it's pretty
comprehensive. Also, here's a short page on the different dtd tags:

It's part of a site that isn't up yet but it should give you a hand with
validation.
