Just went through something very similar - couldn't open up the WordPerfect
files in any program I had. Ending up asking them to resave the documents in
MS Word format.
I believe WordPerfect possibly offers the option to save in plain text and
HTML. The formatting will be lost but at least you'll have the content.
You can also ask them to copy and paste the content into an email to save
some time. Again, no formatting, but you'll have the body content.
