Thanks for the opportunity to review your site

I used Netscape 4.06, 800x600res, 56k modem.

So here we go:

Firstly you asked about colour:  The grey writing doesn't seem to be a
problem, and even looks ok over the left border of grey triangles.  So I
don't think it is necessary to change the text to white.

One thing I think you could try and work on is that the page links in the
navbar frame, as they don't wrap nicely because of the arrow pic you have
placed there.  Maybe you could try using a table to line things up a bit
better.
