Hi all,
Just curious as to the opinion of the group, do you think designing for 256
colors is as important as it used to be?
I have an "obsession" with making web graphic "sets" (for personal home
pages - ready to use), so I give them out for free on my personal web site.
For quite awhile, I have stayed away from pretty marble textures and
bejeweled themes because they usually degrade just horribly on 256 color
depths. At least what I create does :) I see other such artist's work, and
to me, they look pretty good at 256.
Maybe I'm being hyper-critical of my own work, but is there some trick to
making light marble textures and such not degrade so badly. (other than
watching my optimization levels, which I already do). Any good programs out
there to try? I asked one such artist what her trick was and they admitted
they didn't know a durned thing about web color, they just did what they
liked :)
Thanks for input,
Gina
