Paul,

Lisa and Jami suggest a layer with your chosen color, adjusting the =
opacity until you get what you want. I suggest a slight modification to =
this... Instead of adjusting the opacity slider, click the drop-down box =
to the right of the opacity slider (typically says Normal) and choose =
Darken. This will allow your text to come through the lighter highlight =
color without making the text fade out, without making your color fade =
out, and usually does this without edge artifacts.
