Paul,

You can get a slightly different effect by using the paint brush tool 
rather than selecting a rectangle around the area you wish to 
highlight.

1. Set the paint brush width slightly larger than your text.

2. Select the round shape.

3. Select your shade of yellow.

4. On a new layer, draw your highlight line over your text.

5. Use Kehvan's method of darkening the text or, if possible, place 
the yellow layer below the text layer.

This method will produce the effect of having actually highlighted 
the text by hand with a marker.
