Kai's Power Tools is more of an add-on, not a package by itself.

I got CorelDRAW 8, and it only cost $99 for the educational version (and
that's Canadian $$$).  I got it at the local university (University of
Calgary).  The educational price of PhotoShop is considerably higher, and
for the extra $200, it isn't worth it (I actually like Corel Photopaint 8
more than PhotoShop 4).  Besides, with Corel you get CorelDRAW, one of the
best (if not the best) desktop publishing packages, Corel Dream 3D, and
tones of clipart.  The only thing that you don't get are the manuals.  But
for $50, you can get a good book to teach you some technique, and use the
on-line help to get oriented with the program.
