Image coloring problemby "Jami" <designsbydusty(at)tiadon.com> |

Hello....... I am in the process of building a website for a friend, who wants to use exclusively black-line images on a lavender background. I have found some excellent black-and-white graphics, and have been trying to convert them for the pale lavender background that my friend wants for her site. I've done two images so far. One of them came out beautifully, the other one shows up as having a much lighter background than that used for the page. (Not white, not the pale lavender, but an even paler lavender.) The page I'm working on can be seen at http://www.geocities.com/mothers_wisdom/frameset.html. As you can see, the little bouquet of flowers over the navigation bar looks fine. What I did was this....in PSP, I copied the image of the flowers and then pasted it on a blank image that had the desired background color. I did have to use the Delete key to erase a couple of lingering white areas, but it worked beautifully. However, when I tried to do the same thing with the larger image (the farm scene), the image that was pasted was not black-line, but instead a darker shade of lavender, and rather muddy. So, I tried using the flood fill tool to replace the white background with the lavender color. I know that the color I was using in my flood fill tool was the same as the page background, and yet twice the end result had the even paler shade of lavender. Anyone have any ideas? I'm sure there's a very simple solution to this, I'm just not seeing it at the moment. Thanks in advance, Jami
