I received some mails asking me what scanlines are and some mails with links
to sites where some artwork was scanned. Thank you but I was asking for
something different.

I'd like to shed some light on the issue:
The IBM logo for instances is a classical example of scanlines.
Vertical lines mimicking the old computer monitors which displayed
everything with "gaps".

Take a graphic and make every other horizontal line black or white or
whatever (even transparent) that is what I mean with scanlines.

I have seen some artists creating quite stunning text artwork using the
scanlines effect.

I am currently writing a tutorial for Corel PhotoPaint 8 and I'd like to see
how others used this effect, I am interested form an artistical point of
view.

Sincerely

Ramon Bartschat
