The problem with any 'no longer in print' books you find is that the 
info will be pretty much out of date. The basics will be all valid 
but there have been lots of updates.

Best would be to scout around the web looking for PovRay tutorial 
sites. There are quite a few, many straight out of Yahoo.com (which 
is an 'easy' search). Most of these sites include source code which 
is what you need. No, often not a lot of 'explanation', but at least 
they show 'how' to use the features.

But I had pretty good luck with the distribution docs. -900k- is 
pretty substantial (and the current docs are more complete than 
previous versions). Start with the easy examples and work up from 
there. They all work and are pretty clear in terms of explaining the 
basics.

There is also -heavy- mailing list and newsgroup support. And search 
Dejanews 'Interest Finder' for info about specific topics.
