Ross,

I was working on a home page for a photo studio and I had to study about
it (and also made some questions about it on this list).

The items that alters the size of the image are:

1) The physical size of the image.

2) The number of colors.

3) The format of the image (JPEG, GIF).

4) In case of animated images, the number of frames also.
