If you require a specific font that is not available as shareware or
freeware, you'll need to purchase it. The extension for PC fonts is either
.ttf (true type font) or .fon.

To use a font you will need to install it onto your system where it then
becomes available to your applications. To install a font, access the font
manager through your Control Panel. You can drop the font file right into
your font directory, but my experience with this has been that this
sometimes causes the font to not appear in some applications, so it's best
to go in through the front door by officially installing it.

When you create the Web graphic, you will render it as a .gif image. It
will then be accessible to all graphical browsers. If you want to share
production files (i.e. layered rastor files or vector files that contain
unrendered text, the machine reading the file must have the font installed
to properly view and manipulate the text. When sharing fonts between PC and
Mac, Ive found that they are generally compatible. The only thing you must
do however, is make sure that the font file on the PC has an extension. Mac
files don't have literal extensions like PCs, so you have to manually change
the filename to include the extension. If you aren't sure, use .ttf.
Finally, while most fonts are cross-platform compatible, I have seen some
that are not.

Best Wishes!
