PKZip is a software program that compacts files so they more easily fit onto
a disk, or can be transferred more quickly from one computer to another.  It
also creates efficiency in that you can cram any number of files into one
'zip' file.  
Note: It is a PC native technology, so you should make sure that you do not
create cross-platform issues by using it (i.e. a mac user may not be able to
open a zip file).  

You'll be glad to know that zipping is very easy, user friendly, and is
industry standard software - like MSWord, you can generally expect that your
end user will also have zip (or access to zip).  

It is a very simple process that just takes a few minutes to master.  There
is a (GUI) graphical user interface called WinZip available at
http://www.winzip.com/ - this is a shareware program, and very reasonably
priced.  It has a useful helpful, and a very short tutorial. You can also
get the original dos based program, called PKzip, for free, but as it is a
command line dos program, it is a little more cumbersome to use.
