OE has to go..... but what next?

Hiya


I think OE doesn't really cut the mustard when it comes to e-mail.  So,
time for a change.  And the question is:

Which e-mail client do people recommend? (no flame war now, please   ;-)

* (vital requirement) has to be able to Import all my existing e-mails
from Outlook Express via whatever means ('000s of HWG archived mails are
too good to bin)
* has to function as a news reader too
* has to be able to d/l from several accounts at the click of 1 button
* free is good, but not essential
