If you go to http://www.download.com and take a look in the Development
Tools category, you'll find a listing for Web Authoring. Lots of tools to
try there for free. I'm primarily a Mac guy (though I do walk on the "dark
side" also) and have found that the Mac shareware to be a lot easier to use.
HTML Web Weaver and World Wide Web Weaver both have an easy to use interface
and good feature set. My preference though is BBEdit. There is a "lite"
version available for free on their website - http://www.barebones.com -
(which I have used and enjoyed for a good while though the full version is
super). The freeware/shareware editors that I've found in the Windows world
have not impressed me one bit. I have ended up doing all my web work
primarily on the Mac, even ASP. As long as it can be understood by the
server, what does it matter what platform it's created on?
