Fw: Fw: Beginner Stylesheet Questionby "Anthony Abby" <anthonyabby(at)yahoo.com> |
|
As a follow-up question, is there a particular way, or a best practice, for setting the body background color when linking to a stylesheet file? I'm linking to the following file (styles.css) and it supposed to set the body background color to Blue, however in IE 6 the body background color stays White unless I embed the stylesheet directly on the page. Additionally, while linking to this file, it does not set the FONT, or font color either. In fact, the only thing that does seem to work while linking to this file, is the background color in the TABLE. Why would it do this?? I do not have any settings in the HTML that would counteract the stylesheet, so I'm kind of scratching my head here. Thanks Anthony <STYLE TYPE="text/css"> BODY { background : #0000FF; font-family : Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size : medium; font-size-adjust : none; font-stretch : normal; font-style : normal; font-variant : normal; font-weight : normal; float : left; empty-cells : show; color : Red; } TABLE { background-color : #8CB4F6; border : medium Blue; empty-cells : show; } TH { background-color : #0000FF; color : Black; font-weight : bold; } </STYLE> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anthony Abby" <anthonyabby(at)yahoo.com> To: <hwg-style(at)hwg.org> Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2001 7:01 AM Subject: Re: Fw: Beginner Stylesheet Question > Gerhard, > > My stylesheet was in the same directory actually, but now I'm almost > embarrassed.
