The pre-done route is the way to go. The easiest way (it may not seem like
it, but it is) is to pull the info from a database. By storing a 'go live
date' or some such, you can get the right page by querying that field. Since
it appears you haven't lined up hosting, then selecting one that supports
one or more scripting/programming platforms would be helpful (PHP is good --
and free if you want to play with it yourself -- Cold Fusion and ASP are
rather easy (easier than Perl, anyways...), etc.
SSI is good for little-changing elements like headers and footers. This
can be done programmatically, too, without SSI per se.
The intro page can be a cookie, but it could also be a database thing,
too. A cookie would probably be easier, though.
