x.style has no properties

Hi,

I had thought I had a nice working model of dhtml which worked in 3 DOMs.
Suddenly, however - and I'm not at all clear on what I changed to make this
happen - NN4 doesn't like anything I do. It doesn't show the styling for the
menus any longer, and continually gripes that "x.style has no properties"

I can post some code if necessary but thought that something in this
scenarios might be obvious to some of you.
